UCF Butokukan Club
The UCF Butokukan teaches Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Weapons Training and Self-Defense in a fun and controlled environment. This is a non-profit organization, several black belt instructors were taught for free so they teach for free. We are the oldest Martial Arts Club on campus, 18 years and still growing. All are welcome to join. Coed beginner classes form at the start of every new semester The UCF Butokukan is part of the American Institute of Martial Virtue System.The American Institute of Martial Virtue System (AMS) places equal emphasis on training for Self-Defense, Art, and Sport. Founder of the AMS, Todd D. Jones, began training in martial arts at the age of 13 in January, 1971. Currently, Mr. Jones holds advanced degrees in Moo Duk Kwan - Tae Kwon Do (Korean Karate), Aikido, Iaido (Japanese Swordsmanship), and Kendo (Japanese Fencing). Mr. Jones was a national Karate champion in 1979, and held state titles from 1979 to 1983. The AMS curriculum is the result of a continuous refinement process concentrated in American university environments since 1975. The AMS has numerous programs, schools, and instructors across the United States and abroad.
